The Mac Game Blogged
After much thought and deliberation I've decided to put MGB into stasis until I can come up with a more self-sustaining format. The "blog" aspect never quite worked out as I had planned, but it was a fun experiment nonetheless, and there's nearly a year's worth of content to thumb through if yer a new visitor or just really bored.

The site will remain up indefinitely in its current form but do not expect regular updates from here on in. I apologize to any developers with pending reviews, but you're not missing out on much traffic, and you'll be spared the typical smart-assed MGB scrutiny ;-)

So long for now! Go play MegaPixel or poke a bunny or something...

Roundup: May 5 to May 11

As you've probably noticed, MGB has been hanging by a thread lately and I'm considering shutting'er down for good. By my initial estimates this should've happen long ago but I'll have a final decision made sometime next week. Till then I'm gonna watch this over and over to keep myself amused - if anyone knows where I can get some Stonehedge bling please let me know! I'm looking to up my yo factor...

Roundup: April 28 to May 4

If you noticed any MGB downtime this week I apologize. The shared-server the site is hosted on has been repeatedly hosed (or something) this week and my web host assures me that they're "feverishly working on getting the server back up and running". So hopefully this'll get straightened out...

Oh, I should also note that MacSoft's recent "25% Faster" Halo update runs 25% slower on nVidia hardware and may also have some issues with Intel integrated video. So think twice before updating - good thing I got the Windows version eh?

The Last Stand
Click to Play!
Joystiq pointed out Armor Games' The Last Stand over the weekend an it was too good to pass up posting it here as well - plus I'm lazy and couldn't be arsed to research a game on my own :-P...

Personally I can't get enough zombie splatter and the Last Stand Doesn't disappoint. The game has some strategy/RPG-ish elements between levels which is a nice touch (and gives your clicking finger a break). I will complain that the aiming feels off, if not just plain wrong, though you kinda get used to it after a while. I can't for the life of me recall where I've seen the "fight a wave, then fix your barricade" gameplay before (but I swear I've played something like this before - anyone?). Regardless, The Last Stand is a smacking implementation and great fun.
